On Saturday the 19th we traveled to LA, ORD to LAX. We were fortunate to have a direct flight and it was pretty smooth. I was a little worried about the airport after having a bad experience the previous year traveling, however it went ok. Sunday we ended up shopping at whole foods and recharging from the trip.
Monday the 21st was my first day at treatment. It started off with a bad IV being placed and I started sweating really bad and started to panic since my arm was starting to buldge. Not a great way to start the day and a 10 day treatment plan. However the senior staff handled it well and that IV was promptly removed and someone with more experience placed a really good one and I didn’t really have any issues with it from then on. Did five different types of IVs and only had mild reactions to one of them ( some kind of neuro ammino mixture) but people sometimes have issues with it. Also did the lymphatic drainage suit, Laser bed (to start to stimulate stem cell production) and got a thymus shot in my rear.
It went quick as I was really absorbing what was going on. After finishing up the day Brandy and I got launch and went back to the hotel and took a nap.
I have a small headache after but overall don’t feel negatively impacted by the day. So that is a relief. Treating can really be a double edged sword, especially the first time you take anything. So I’m pretty happy with the day.
I’ll keep giving some updates as we continue to go through treatment.
